“Introducing the team!”

Monday 4th July 2016 | Sam Sheppard

The Dinky Fingerprint Jewellery company was established in 2007 by Sam Sheppard, based in Maidenhead, Berkshire Sam creates beautiful bespoke silver jewellery.

The Dinky Fingerprint Company was initially set up as a finger print jewellery company, but the range has expanded with demand over the last few years to also be able to capture hands, feet, artwork, names, special words and messages as well as paw prints.  The beautifully designed bespoke silver jewellery very quickly became a popular favourite for new Mums and Sam’s business went from strength to strength.  It became clear that Sam had the ambition, drive and desire to expand, and launched the “Dinky Fingerprint Consultants” role.

A Dinky Fingerprint Consultant is someone who loves bespoke silver jewellery, wants a flexible opportunity to work around other family or work commitments and run their own business.  There are currently two fantastic Dinky Fingerprint Consultants, Laura and Jo, let’s meet the team:

Sam, thanks for answering a few questions for us:

1. When did you join Dinky Finger Prints?

I am the owner of the DInky Finger Prints Jewellery Company and was obviously the first ever consultants for when it started back in 2007.  We did not have the only shop set up then so all the customer came through to me, either from events or via appointments.

  1. 2. What do you love most about the business?

It is my baby of course, but for me it is being able to do something that I love, working from the studio at home and being able to fit it around my family commitments eg: being able to do the school drop off and pick up, the class assembly and sports days, etc.

3. What are your biggest challenges?

Switching off!  Because it is literally on the door step, it is always so tempting to just do one last thing!  There is always so much to do and because I enjoy it, so I find it hard to stop.

  1. 4. What is your best seller?

I find that my best seller is the men’s range.  Fingerprint cufflinks were definitely the favourites but this Fathers Day the men’s bracelets have over taken them.  The men’s range is popular because it is always the organized Mums/ Wives buying for Dads and Granddads.

  1. 5. Tell us one unique thing about you?

Before setting up the Dinky Fingerprint Company I was a hair and makeup artist!

Sam covers the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire areas, please feel free to get in touch and like our facebook page.

Jo, thanks for answering a few questions for us:

  1. 1. When did you join Dinky Finger Prints as one of their consultants?

I joined Dinky Finger Print at the start of 2016 after seeing the products at a charity dog show whilst on holiday in Northern Ireland last summer.

  1. 2, What do you love most about the business?

I particularly love the products themselves, as I work in the pet industry and felt that the paw print range in particular would prove popular amongst friends and colleagues.  I love the variety of products within the range and the fact that there is something for both me and women and all ages too.  I also like the fact that there is no pressure to sell and that the business can be as full or part time as I want it to be.

  1. 3. What are your biggest challenges?

The biggest challenge for me so far has been promoting the business as it is obviously fairly new to me, so I am still building up a customer base and trying to spread the word locally.

  1. 4. What is your best seller?

So far, I have mainly promoted paw prints to my friends, rather than fingers, hands or feet.  As such the paw print necklace charms are a favourite.

  1. 5. Tell us one unique thing about you?

I have a “second life” in Cyprus.  I visit twice yearly and am heavily involved with animal welfare over there too, so am currently promoting the Dinky Finger Print Jewellery range in two countries!

Jo covers Solihull and the Midlands area, please feel free to get in touch and like her facebook page.

Laura, thanks for answering a few questions for us:

  1. 1. When did you join Dinky Finger Prints as one of their consultants?

I joined the team in February 2014.

  1. 2. What do you love most about the business?

Lots!  The range of products are not only beautiful and made to a high standard, but their is something to suit most people’s budget.  Also I love helping to create keepsakes for people, especially memorial pieces as they give so much comfort.

  1. 3. What are your biggest challenges?

Trying to choose the right events to go to.

  1. 4. What is your best seller?

Definitely the paw print items, small charms and the Pandora bead charms.

  1. 5. Tell us one unique thing about you?

I have a wee Yorkie dog called Bella and she is why I choose to do this.  I think it helps to build a bond with other dog owners at events.

Laura covers the Northern Ireland area, please feel free to get in touch and like her facebook page.
